‘YOURS FOR LIBERTY\u2019 <\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/em>is a feature length film\u00a0based on a true story about Abigail Scott Duniway, a suffragette who dedicated over forty-five years of her life fighting for women’s rights. After migrating with her family from Illinois to Oregon by way of covered wagon on the Oregon Trail, Abigail became a delegate for women’s rights traveling by stagecoach and lecturing with the likes of Susan B. Anthony to spread the word for equality. She wrote several novels and published<\/span> \u2018The New Northwest\u2019, <\/em>a weekly newspaper dedicated to human rights and issues pertaining to equal rights for women. Despite many obstacles, the most arduous being her own brother turned adversary, the powerful and influential Harvey Scott, Abigail won her life long battle for justice in 1912 when Oregon voters approved women’s suffrage. In 1913, Abigail was asked to sign the Equal Suffrage Amendment and became the first woman to register to vote in the state of Oregon, just two years shy of her death at age eighty-one. A unique\u00a0aspect of this feature film is that Abigail\u00a0is the Great Great Grandmother to Drea Hoffman, founder of Liberty Entertainment Group and writer of\u00a0this screenplay.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
